This position will provide Treasury support, advice, and direction to Western Union’s operations in Europe and Africa. Report directly to the Global Head of Foreign Exchange and International Treasury with a dotted line to the Head of Regional Finance, you’ll play a vital role in helping this business to keep growing and thriving.

Role Responsibilities:


Working with various teams to understand any Treasury related issues and identify and offer solutions to solve problems to increase profitability.

Establishing and managing local bank relationships to find cost effective solutions for funds collection, cash management and foreign exchange services.

This vital role will establish and maintain relationships with various regional central banks to ensure Western Union and our Agents can transfer funds efficiently out of various markets.

Working with colleagues from the business and Compliance teams to monitor and identify any regulatory changes that could impact Western Union or our agent’s ability to move funds across borders.

Utilise your commercial understanding to monitor and set wholesale foreign exchange rates based on various market data sources.

Provide education and support to both internal and external teams on various Treasury topics such as foreign exchange processes, FX rate setting, and settlement calculations.

Work with internal teams to explore different settlement options to help drive business growth or lower costs such as local currency settlement opportunities within the agent network.

Coordinate with central Treasury to open new currency bank accounts when needed.

As needed, negotiate, and execute various foreign exchange trades and prepare and provide trade support where required.



Role Requirements :


Significant and substantial experience of foreign exchange markets; preferably experience in a foreign exchange role in a bank, central bank or fintech environment.

You will have experience of working with regulators and be able to detail key successes in this area when we meet.

Previous experience of agile working methodologies is desirable along with strong analytical skills.

Experience in building robust and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong business acumen with a proven track record of delivering results through innovation.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and French.

There will be some travel expected but this primarily a hybrid office based role.
