Job Description:One research assistant or research engineer in MOFs and their composite materials for ion batteries is available at CBS.GPE and MCN department at UM6P. The job vacancy involves the design, synthesis, and characterization of derivatives of Metal-organic frameworks and their composites for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries. The candidate will mainly investigate the effect of MOFs on the performance of other known materials for ion batteries. The materials synthesis will involve the use of wet chemistry and other known solid-sate methods such as pyrolysis and carbonization under a controlled atmosphere.


Required qualifications:The candidate must hold a master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, and related disciplines. Experience in MOF synthesis or battery applications is highly desired.It is recommended that the candidate demonstrate experience in undertaking independent research and managing research activities. Fluency in English as well as a proven ability to write scientific articles are also mandatory. The research assistant should be an effective team player to interact constructively with the interdisciplinary team of CBS and MSN departments. The post requires at least two of the following skills: Familiar with the fabrication and characterization of porous functional materials. Able to examine the textural and structural properties of porous materials using a panoply of characterization techniques such as XRD, N2 adsorption, SEM, TEM, dissolution-NMR, IR spectroscopy and TGA and other related spectroscopy techniques. Familiar with lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries
